Acupuncture is a healing modality that was first used by the ancient Chinese over 4000 years ago. It works by rebalancing the flow of blood and qi through the body via pathways called meridians. Dr. Keeney uses acupuncture both diagnostically and therapeutically. She tracks changes within the pulse in response to stimulating different acupuncture points and this guides her treatment plan. Acupuncture is nearly always a part of the comprehensive care plan at Mandala Integrative Veterinary Care.

The philosophy of Dr. Keeney's practice revolves around her belief in the body’s innate ability to heal itself. This belief has led her to explore many holistic healing modalities such as acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbal medicine, essential oils, homeopathy and food therapy.

"I focus on providing the body with the natural tools that it needs to heal itself from the inside out. Integrative medicine can really be the best of both worlds, drawing on the strengths of multiple medicines and techniques to find the gentlest and most effective combination for the individual. By supporting the body’s pathways to self-healing we can achieve true and lasting health."
