WHAT IS LASER THERAPY?
The term laser is an acronym for "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation"
Laser treatment is a non-invasive method that helps reduce pain (both acute and chronic) This treatment is FDA cleared and can be extremely effective and, in some cases, an alternative to drugs and surgery.
Laser treatments usually just take a few minutes and are typically very relaxing and well-received by patients. Laser therapy works by delivering deep penetrative photonic light to induce profound physiological changes at the cell level. Cells soak up this light energy and convert it into cellular energy.
The advantages of this form of therapy can be seen and felt immediately as laser boosts the circulation which leads to faster healing and pain relief.
Much like acupuncture, laser has been shown to have a cumulative effect and families are encouraged to continue laser for their pets as long as they continue to make improvements.
In some cases it is best to laser patients frequently at the start of laser therapy (sometimes twice daily for certain conditions), and we have laser rentals available to make this more doable. My Pet Laser is used by pet parents for arthritis, wound healing, lick granulomas, hot spots, injuries etc.. It is a great option for pain management in between vet visits. Feel free to ask about this option and get more information!
