Patient Info: Golden Paste Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup organic turmeric powder
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups filtered water
  • 1 ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper*
    *NOTE: for patients with excess heat decrease the black pepper to 3/4 tsp
  • ¼ cup organic cold pressed coconut oil

Directions

  1. Mix the turmeric and 1 cup of water in a pan. (Start with 1 cup water and add more only if needed.)
  2. Stir the liquid on medium / low heat continuously for approximately 7-10 minutes or until it forms a thick paste. If your paste still looks watery after 10 minutes just add a bit more turmeric and heat it for another couple of minutes until a thick paste is formed.
  3. Add the pepper and oil and stir well to combine
  4. Allow the mixture to cool, then place it in a jar with a lid and store it in your refrigerator. Paste should be stored for no longer than 2 weeks.
